Finding Your Lodgify API Key

Connecting Lodgify takes one thing: your API key. GuestsKey asks for it during setup and handles everything else itself.

Getting the key

In Lodgify, open your settings and go to the Public API page. Your key is there — copy it. Lodgify’s own authorization documentation covers this if their menus have moved since this was written.

Paste it into GuestsKey when prompted. It’s checked immediately, so you’ll know straight away if it didn’t take.

Worth knowing: a Lodgify API key carries both read and write access to your account. Treat it like a password — don’t email it around, and regenerate it in Lodgify if you think it’s been exposed.

You don’t need to set up a webhook

Unlike some integrations, there’s nothing to configure on Lodgify’s side beyond the key. GuestsKey registers for booking updates itself using your key, and unregisters if you disconnect. If you’ve set up webhooks for other tools before and are looking for that step here, there isn’t one.

What comes across

Your active properties import automatically, along with bookings. Confirmed reservations become bookings that generate codes; declined ones are treated as cancellations. Tentative and unconfirmed holds are ignored until they firm up.

Bookings from every channel connected to Lodgify come through — Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Expedia, and direct reservations.

Guest phone numbers arrive with the booking, which is what codes are generated from. Guest email addresses fill in as bookings update rather than always arriving with the first import, so don’t be surprised if an email is briefly missing on a freshly imported reservation.

Check your property timezones

This is the one thing to verify after connecting.

Lodgify’s API doesn’t tell us where a property actually is in enough detail to determine its timezone, so GuestsKey infers it from the country and state on the property. That’s usually right, and sometimes it isn’t — particularly for states spanning two timezones, or properties with incomplete address details.

Timezone drives everything about when codes work. A property set to the wrong zone gives guests codes that activate an hour early or late, which surfaces as a confused guest rather than an obvious error.

So after your first import, open each property and confirm the timezone matches reality. It takes a minute and it’s much cheaper than working it out from a lockout.
