Connect Airbnb Without a PMS

If your bookings come from Airbnb and you don’t use a property management system, you can still automate door codes. GuestsKey connects to Airbnb through Hospitable Connect, which is free and doesn’t require a paid Hospitable subscription.

This is a different thing from connecting a full Hospitable account. If you already pay for Hospitable, use that integration instead — it syncs more.

Use Chrome, Edge, or Firefox for this one

Safari’s tracking protection interferes with the sign-in handoff between Hospitable and Airbnb, and the connection fails part way through without a clear error. Start in a different browser and it works normally.

This is worth doing even if Safari is your daily browser — it’s a one-time setup.

How it goes

  1. In GuestsKey onboarding, choose Connect Airbnb.
  2. You’re taken to Hospitable’s own page to authorize.
  3. Sign in to Airbnb there and approve access.
  4. You’re returned to GuestsKey.

Your listings and reservations then arrive on their own, shortly after you land back — they’re pushed to us rather than fetched, so give it a moment before assuming nothing happened. Reservations from roughly the last month come across, along with upcoming ones.

The authorization step expires after a few minutes, so if you get distracted midway, start again rather than resuming a stale page.

Guest phone numbers

Codes are built from the guest’s phone number, and Airbnb doesn’t always pass one through. Where it’s missing, GuestsKey can’t derive a code from it — switch that property to random codes so a booking without a phone number still gets access. Email addresses are frequently absent on Airbnb bookings too, which affects email-based notifications for those guests.

What you get

Listings become properties, reservations become bookings, and door codes are generated and scheduled from them exactly as they are for any other booking source. Booking changes and cancellations flow through the same way.

Once it’s connected, map each property to its lock and turn on automation. From there it runs itself.
